By Veronica Velez

You've probably noticed that 2013 has given us some awesome TV shows. We've looked over the most well-liked shows to provide you with the top six that you ought to be watching, if you are not already. To start us off, we have Game of Thrones. George R. R. Martin's mega saga has been brought to the small screen and folks can't get enough of this blend of faith, war and sex - all delivered in a medieval setting.

Up next is Breaking Bad. This show follows Walter White, a chemistry teacher, who falls prey to cancer, and has to turn to drug dealing to afford his treatment. With his super pure meth and his underworld ex-student, Jesse Pinkman, they rise up the drug food chain in his quiet Texas town.

Another success is Dexter, a show about an LA cop who murders serial killers. How long can this vigilante keep working before he is discovered?

Pretty Little Liars also remains among the top television shows of this year. It's based on a series of novels by Sara Shepard and it follows the lives of teenagers who fall out following the disappearance of one of their own. Someone is threatening to spill their secrets yet they can't seem to figure out who it is.

For a sublime and stylish show, it's hard to go wrong with Mad Men. Follow Peggy Olsen as she tries her best to shatter the glass ceiling in 1960s corporate America.

Finally, you simply can't overlook Parks and Recreation. This amusing show follows Leslie Knope, Assistant Director of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Team, as she endeavors to blend her unbridled passion for the department with her less than ambitious boss and co-workers.

Jump on these shows when you can to see what you have been missing.
